Dr. Rishav Koirala is a highly accomplished Consultant Psychiatrist and researcher. He was instrumental in establishing the first Psycho-oncology Clinic in Nepal at a local hospital and subsequently opened additional psych oncology clinics in other centers.

He has earned a PhD from the University of Oslo, Norway, for his research on the effects of trauma. His dedication to advancing this subspecialty in Nepal is evident in his various roles, including Executive Manager of the Brain and Neuroscience Center (BANC) Nepal, Focal Person for Mental Health with the WHO in Nepal, Associate Professor at People’s Medical College, and Advisor for Transcultural Psychosocial Organization Nepal. Additionally, he has served as Joint Treasurer of the Psychiatrist’s Association of Nepal and has made efforts to promote community psychiatry in remote areas of the country.
